Der Testboy 27 Digital sendet ein digitales Signal, welches im Erdreich leichter zu lokalisieren ist. Daher ermöglicht das Gerät vor allem die Ortung von Leitungen und Kabeln im Erdboden, um beispielsweise Unterbrechungen des Begrenzungskabels eines Mähroboters aufzuspüren oder Kabel der Gartenbeleuchtung zu lokalisieren. Als Hilfsmittel für diesen Anwendungsbereich wird er mit einem Erdspieß ausgeliefert. Darüber hinaus verfügt der Testboy 27 Digital über einen RJ11-Anschluss. Die Anzeige erfolgt über einen wählbaren Ton und zusätzlich optisch per Skala.
